Construction
We run our own Construction contests, for members. This is normally held in April of each year. The prizes are:
The Morgan Key
This 1940's vintage morse key, mounted on a wooden plinth, was presented to the society by Tom Morgan. Tom was a former chairman of the club.
The Key is presented at the Annual General Meeting and is the only award
where the committee decide who should receive it.
The key is awarded to the member who, in the judgement of the committee, has
contributed most to the furtherance of the society during the year.
The Stan Cook Shield
The shield was presented to the Society in remembrance of Stan Cook. The
shield goes to the winner of the simple section of the annual construction
contest.
Those of us that knew Stan can remember the encouragement he gave especially
to the younger members.
The Kingscote Award
This award was instigated in remembrance of Tony Kingscote, a chairman of the
society for many years. It is the prize for the winning
entry in the complex section of the annual construction contest.

Direction Finding
During the winter months, we run a series of informal direction finding contests around the school premises. These are conducted on top band and 2m.
The Direction Finding Trophy, which was generously donated to the society by Dave Miller, is awarded to the most successful participant in the DF hunts run by the society during the year. Dave Miller was a keen DFer.
